A week in the life: CreateNow
We sat down with the Generator Waring Taylor winners of Power Up your Start-Up. Learn about what a week in the life looks like for the team at CreateNow.
CreateNow is a creative and production studio of videographers and photographers based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington.
They joined Generator Waring Taylor in November 2021 as the winner of our Power Up your Start-Up winner.
Like most Generator members, the team work flexibly with a mix of in the office as team, out and about on shoots and working from home when it suits.
We caught up with Sam, the Creative and Company Director to hear what a week for CreateNow looks like:
Monday: All the boys are in the office smashing away at various projects. Shyam is coloring a recent project, while myself, Jacob and Hamish are editing various videos.
Tuesday: On Tuesday we all rise early and make our way to office yoga in the Generator lounge - this has to be one of the highlights for the week. Yoga sets our minds right for the day of shooting and editing that lays ahead. Today we all continue the editing, while Hamish is out on a photoshoot.
Wednesday: Shyam, Sam and Jacob are all off on a shoot while Hamish digitizes film negatives. We all love shooting on film, so it's always exciting when one of the boys brings up his analogue photography work at the office.
Thursday: Today, Shyam's adding the final touches to a music video which looks beautiful! Jacob and Hamish have set up a little station to continue digitizing some film photos - this time it's a jewellery shoot Jacob shot entirely on analog cameras. Sam is planning a creative pitch for a new client.
Friday: Hamish, Jacob, and Sam all have various shoots today. Shyam is experimenting with some funky new lenses to see what new looks we can bring to future content.
