Our Community Engagement Manager Vino stopped by to have a chat with Scott Burnett from Rice Consulting! Read on to meet the real Scott…
What is your role at Rice Consulting? How long have you been there, and what do you enjoy most about your job?
I’ve Been at Rice for a wee bit over 5 months. I am a recruitment consultant who focuses solely on recruitment agencies in Auckland. Recruitment companies are surprisingly bad at recruiting for themselves and I help them in any way I can. At Rice the best thing is the people I get to work with; Anastasia, Becky, Jon, Sarah and Sean plus all our amazing candidates and clients plus the free coffee is a big bonus.
Describe what 2017 means for you and Rice Consulting:
It’s the first full financial year for me to make some money and a leave a mark on the business/industry. Plus we’ve had 2 new staff join the company in the last month so it’s very exciting times.
What Generator facilities make things easier for you on a daily basis?
The lift! Top floor can be a bit of a summit at times. The bar and both Pauls are awesome, the common areas where we meet candidates and clients are great too. I love Spotify in the office I have always wanted to work in a place where there was music playing.
What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I have a lot of trouble putting keys on key rings, opening milk cartons and I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of The Simpsons
What’s your spirit animal?
A Kea; the alpine parrot, I used to live in Christchurch and I remember being amazed at this big green lumbering parrot in the snow. They have them in the Zoo here and they’re super cheeky. We have an African Grey called Benny back home who’s about 22 years old, he’s great.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be?
What’s your go-to karaoke song?
Kids by Roby Williams ft kylie Minogue. Because you need a girl to come up with you and do the Kylie bit plus there is a rap bit at the end that I straight kill.
Who would play you in the movie of your life and why?
Owen Wilson, he’s in heaps of funny films and after that incident in 07 I think he is capable of capturing my brooding intensity
